Premium Photo Paper

Premium Inkjet Photo Paper

Today’s leading computer printer models like Epson, HP, Lexmark and Canon share one thing in common when it comes to the digital print technology stamp in their general consumer printer models - inkjet.

Inkjet refers to computer printers that operate by propelling or shooting micro droplets of ink (from 50 to 60 diameter microns) to the photo paper. Photo quality is rendered through compact resolution setting (up to 1440 x 700 dots per inch) while vivid colors are achieved since the dots have different colors assigned to them from the ink source, which are combined in the actual printing process.

General inkjet photo papers are graded based on five basic standards: opacity (how the printed text or image sees or seeps through); brightness (the scale of whiteness from 1 to 100); weight (measured as grams per inch (g/m2) or in basic pounds, with most inkjet photo paper falling between 24 lbs to 71 lbs); caliper (the thickness of the paper, measured in millimeters); and gloss (surface coating that creates the finish or the look of the printed product).

Premium inkjet photo papers are above-par inkjet photo papers, meaning they are a notch higher than the standards set for general inkjet photo papers - premium resin coated or PRC (gloss); from 180 to 280 gsm (weight); thick, waterproof, and quick-drying on any ink (caliper); high-level whiteness (brightness); and can handle double-sided printing (opacity).

This special type of photo paper is the most suitable medium to use in professional and commercial photography works, especially large format printing like wall paintings, family pictures, posters and graphic designs.
